* Cologne : The Cologne Carnival
The Kölsch – local people in their costumes, come out this Rose Monday. Die Bläck Fööss (Black Feet), Die Höhner (chickens), Die Räuber (thieves) accompany the parade with their traditional carnival songs and music. The « Jesters » on the floats throw objects into the crowds : small presents, sweets or small bottles of schnapps !

Arrive in Treves. Lunch. Guided tour of the oldest town in Germany, former capital of the western kingdom of Rome with its 2000 year old culture. Continue on to Cologne. Dinner. Accommodation.
Guided visit of Cologne in the Ruhr Metropolitan area, famous for its impressive gothic cathedral. Discover the old town and the new quarters along the River Rhine. Lunch.
