The Kölsch – local people in their costumes, come out this Rose Monday. Die Bläck Fööss (Black Feet), Die Höhner (chickens), Die Räuber (thieves) accompany the parade with their traditional carnival songs and music. The « Jesters » on the floats throw objects into the crowds : small presents, sweets or small bottles of schnapps !

D1 Saturday : Treves, the imperial town (170 km)

Arrive in Treves. Lunch. Guided tour of the oldest town in Germany, former capital of the western kingdom of Rome with its 2000 year old culture. Continue on to Cologne. Dinner. Accommodation.

D2 Sunday : Cologne, all roads lead to the cathedral (45 km)

Guided visit of Cologne in the Ruhr Metropolitan area, famous for its impressive gothic cathedral. Discover the old town and the new quarters along the River Rhine. Lunch. Take a break and taste the local delicacies in a panoramic restaurant in the natural reserve of Rhine National Park. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Accommodation.

D3 Monday : Rosenmontag (30 km)

A day of celebration at the biggest and most popular carnival in Germany: the Rose Monday Parade, where you will see a procession of decorated floats, fanfares, giant caricatures... You are free for lunch. Return to the hotel at the end of the day. Dinner. Accommodation.

D4 Tuesday : Cologne

Return to France. On option, guided visit of Aix La Chapelle.
