* French Riviera : Mimosa Festival in Bormes
Carnaval of Bormes les mimosas: The Mimosa is one of the few plants to flower in winter, its bright yellow buds covering the Provencal hillsides with a golden mantle. A number of villages organise celebrations and activities over a two month period, along the so-called “Route du Mimosa”. Bormes’ Flower Parade is a procession of elaborately decorated, riotously colourful floats, decked out with fresh flowers and the sweet-smelling mimosa.
25th to 27th February 2012
