D1 Mulhouse, Capital of Southern Alsace (20 km)
Lunch in Mulhouse. Guided tour of the historic centre taking in some of the gorgeous old buildings and coloured facades around the main square, the Place de la Reunion, such as the Renaissance style Town Hall, and the Temple of Saint-Etienne renowned for its 14th century stained glass windows. Dinner and overnight.
D2 Mulhouse Automobile Festival (40 km)
In the morning visit the excellent Schlumpf brothers Automobile Museum, in a converted 19th century cotton mill, recounting the history of the car industry and with a superb collection of vintage cars. After lunch, enjoy a parade of prestigious vintage cars that’s really quite unique in Europe: from the 4CV to the Rolls Royce, not forgetting Bugatti, Panhard, Mathis and Facel Vega as well as lots of open top sports models too. Dinner and overnight.
D3 Cruise on the Rhine (40 km)
Pop across to Switzerland, to Huninge, for a romantic cruise on the Rhine. Lunch in Bâle.
