* Beaujolais nouveau Festival
Every third Thursday in November is a very special occasion in the Beaujolais region, as the villages celebrate the year’s new wine. Wine-producers throw open their doors for tasting, for the entire weekend, and the atmosphere is certainly convivial!

D1 Friday: Hameau du Vin Wine Museum (30 km)
Lunch in Romanèche-Thorins. Guided visit of the Hameau du Vin Wine Museum, and its presentation of the region’s wine-growing history, followed by some sampling of the different Beaujolais wines. Dinner and overnight.
D2 Saturday: Beaujolais Festival (180 km)
Beaujeu village is the very heart of the Beaujolais and every year an immense heated marquee hosts a wine celebration where you can taste not only the village wine but 12 AOC Beaujolais vintages. There’s plenty of local produce and specialities to taste too. Free time to enjoy the festivities, and lunch at your leisure. Later in the afternoon visit the Charolais Centre dedicated to the region’s most excellent beef cattle. Dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight.
D3 Sunday : La Route des Crus du Beaujolais (40 km)
Set off along the “Route des Crus”, a route taking you through some of the Beaujolais region’s most prestigious vineyards: St Amour, Juliénas, Morgon...Stop at Château de la Greffière to visit its Museum, dedicated to the humble vine and enjoy some wine-tasting in the 18th century vaulted cellar. Lunch.
