Dates
Local style lunch in Ronda, then a guided tour of the town with the ancient Moorish Puente Nuevo Bridge spanning an impressive gorge, the bullring, amphitheatre and Bullfighting Museum, an art that has become emblematic of this southern Spanish town.
Grazalema, at an altitude of 900 metres, is the Cadiz region's highest village and today's hike in the mountainous countryside affords spectacular views over the Andalucian countryside and its scattering of whitewashed villages. From Puerto Boyar, at 1103 metres, our itinerary takes us to Puerto de Don Fernando (5km) with time to enjoy a picnic lunch and observe the indigenous flora and fauna: wild vultures, izzards, and oak forests. Dinner and overnight.
Days' hiking with picnic lunch from Ronda to one of the region's most beautiful villages, Molino del Tajo (5kms). From the main square, the Plaza de Maria Auxiliadora, take in the fantastic views over the town. After lunch tour more of the region's white-washed villages - Ubrique, Zahara and its lake, Sierra and Olvera to admire the mix of Moorish and Andalucian styles. Dinner and overnight.
