Dates
Lunch in a typical mountain inn then a fabulous hike in the Troumouse cirque with its far reaching green meadows at the foot of sheer rock walls, mountain streams and lakes. Dinner and overnight.
A day's hiking in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, enjoying some of the best views of the Gavarnie cirque and its summits. Picnic lunch on the Bellevue plateau overlooking the cirque, and an introduction to the flora and fauna of the region. Dinner and overnight.
A new route around Gavarnie takes you through the high summer pastures and grazing herds to witness mountain farming at first hand. Lunch in a local restaurant then a chance to discover Gavarnie's heritage and the treasures of the Pyrenees National Park at the Gedre Museum. Dinner and overnight.
Visit the Pyrenees biggest power station, a feat of technical engineering with some 40 kms of underground tunnels and 4 dams. Lunch.
