* France - Loire Castles
Follow in Royal footsteps along the banks of this majestic river as it meanders past fairytale castles with fabulous ornamental gardens, plunging you with a group into the heart of the Renaissance. At the time the region's Tuffeau stone was an architect's delight whilst the local wine, or "divine nectar", of the Touraine vineyards was the French court's drink of choice.
Dates

We head with the group for the château of Villandry. Its famous gardens include the highly ornamental kitchen garden. On then to a workshop specialising in drying and conserving pears. We observe traditional preparation methods and have the chance to taste the so called "Poires Tapées à l'Ancienne", unique to the region.
