Group travel in the heart of southern Brittany: the picture-postcard Morbihan Gulf with its 365 little islands. The pace of life here is ruled by the tides in this country of fishing ports with white fronted houses, wild coastline, dunes and moorlands, salt marshes and granite isles.
Dates
Arrive of the group in Vannes in time for lunch. Tourist train with commentary through the lovely old town of Vannes with its historic buildings, ramparts and ruins. Free time to explore. Dinner of the group and overnight.
Direction Auray where you are free to visit the Basilica of Saint Anne, a mecca for Breton pilgrims. On to Quiberon, stopping at the « La Belle Iloise", a fish canning factory making top of the range products which you can taste. Lunch of the group in a local creperie. Next stop Carnac via the "côte sauvage", the wild coast, and a train ride with commentary amidst the hundreds of standing stones. We go as far as La Trinite sur Mer to admire the many sailing boats in the harbour. Dinner of the group and overnight.
Free discovery of Port Louis and its citadel, withs its incredible sight on the harbour and the island of Groix. Visit of the East India Company museum which recounts the shipping saga that linked Lorient and the big Chinese, Indian and African trading posts of the 17th and 18th century. Lunch of the group. Pursuit of the group to Lorient. Visit of the sailing city Eric Tabarly, in tribute to the great sailor and to the sailing world. Diner. Accomodation.
We embark for a grand tour of the Morbihan Gulf, followed by lunch.
