Arrive in Peniscola. Welcome drink. Dinner and overnight.Group trip

Guided tour of Peniscola, the old town, the Templar Castle etc. Lunch at the hotel. Free time before a little train ride down to the port in time to watch the fishing boats coming in and the sale of the catch. Dinner followed by evening entertainment. Overnight.

Day excursion to Valencia in the company of a local guide. Sightseeing tour of the city, famous for its March festivities, the "Fallas", and modern architecture. As well as some notable ancient monuments it has a splurge of avant-garde buildings including the City of Arts and Science, the Conference Centre, the Aquarium and the Calatrava Bridge. Paella is a local speciality and you can sample one for lunch. Then a visit to the Fallas Museum which explains everything about the festivities : what started out as a local carpenters tradition is nowadays a huge two week party when huge puppets are paraded through the streets then burnt in a celebratory bonfire. A free morning or an optional boat trip along the coast, aboard a traditional «golondrina» (swallow). Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon we set off with our guide to explore some of the neighbouring villages: the little fishing ports of Benicarlo and Vinaros, and then inland to the walled town of Morella with its mediaeval chateau, 2kms of ramparts punctuated with Middle age towers. Visit to the Gothic Basilica of Santa Maria Mayor. Dinner followed by evening entertainment. Overnight.
