Arrive in Ljubljana at the end of the afternoon where you will be met by your guide. Dinner and overnight.
Guided tour of the Slovenian capital taking in the Triple Bridge, Saint Nicolas Cathedral and the Fountain of the Rivers. Move on to Zagreb, with lunch en route. Guided tour of Zagreb, from the baroque charm of the upper town and its sprinkling of palaces, to the lively lower town and the coming and going of the trams around Jelacic square.
Leave for Bosnia via the vast agricultural plain of Slavonia, passing through the baroque town of Pozega, nestling amidst hills and vines, and Stara Kapela with its traditional farm houses. Lunch of local specialities then on towards Slavonski Brod and its Austrian citadel, and the crossing into Bosnia. Minarets, mosques and wooded mountains accompany us to Sarajevo, Bosnia's capital. Dinner and overnight in Sarajevo.
Admire the Great Mosque, the Cathedral, the Austro-Hungarian quarter and the National Library on a guided tour of Sarajevo. Lunch then direction Mostar for a guided tour of the old town with its bustling bazaar full of traditional workshops, its mosques and old Turkish houses. Dinner and overnight in Mostar.
Set off for Dubrovnik and a guided tour of onetime Raguse, nowadays better known as Dubrovnik, one of the world's architectural gems. Sitting pretty on a rocky perch, guarded by high walls, Dubrovnik is a pearl on the Croatian Riviera. Dinner and overnight here.
Direction Montenegro with its wild hills and the Buvda Riviera, a stunning spot on the Adriatic coastline. Time to stroll in the lovely fortified town. Lunch then on to Cetinje, the historical capital nestling at the foot of Mount Lovcen, and a chance to admire the Biljarda, the old King Nicolas Palace, the Royal Palace, the blue Palace the monastery etc Dinner and overnight in the Buvda region.
Day's excursion to Albania, via Bar and its 2000 year old olive grove. Arrive at Lake Skhöder, the biggest lake on the Balkan peninsular, and enjoy a guided tour of the old town. Lunch en route. The return journey takes us to Ulcinj back in Montenegro, a picturesque resort popular for its beaches, notably the 13km long Velika plaza. Dinner and overnight.
A day dedicated to Montenegro's stunning coastline, and in particular the most famous fjords in the Adriatic: those at Kotor. Visit Kotor town snug within its byzantine walls, and see the clock tower, the Sveti Tripun cathedral, and admire the lavish façade of the palace as you stroll the cobbled streets. Lunch en route. Continue to Croatia for dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik is the starting point of an unforgettable cruise along the Dalmatian coast. Starboard passage of the Elaphites archipelago of some 14 isles, then portside of Mljet isle and its National Park, a little paradise lost. Lunch on board and on to Korcula, Hvar and Brac, reaching Split at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in the Split region.
Guided tour of the Dalmatian capital, Split. Two millennia of history are ensconced in the old town, with its port, seafront promenade, and the Diocletian Palace. After lunch a guided tour of Trogir, a Middle- Age treasure. Finally the mediaeval hamlet of Sibenik, clinging to the hillside, overlooking the sea. Dinner and overnight in the Sibenik region.
Gothic palaces and a UNESCO listed Cathedral are some of the delights to discover on your guided tour of Sibenik. After lunch we head to the Krka National Park and its superb waterfalls. Dinner and overnight.
Zadar is surrounded on three sides by the sea, and your guided tour allows you to take in the vestiges of the past in the town, from the Roman forum to Baroque treasures, gorgeous little Romanic churches and the ruined fortifications. On to Rijeka stopping for lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in the Rijeka region.
