* Italy - Sardinia by coach from Marseille

Meet at the ferry terminal in Marseille at 4.00 p.m. for boarding and cabin allocation. We set sail for Porto Torres at 6.00 p.m. Dinner at your leisure board.

You can breakfast on board if you wish. Arrival in Porto Torres is at approx. 11.30 a.m. where you will be greeted by your local French-speaking guide. Lunch then on to the old cliff top town of Castelsardo, with its picturesque little streets lanes seemingly suspended in mid-air. We continue to Santa Teresa di Gallura for dinner and overnight.

We make for the port of Palau to cross (with coach) to La Maddalena island in the archipelago of the same name, renowned for its fabulous beaches. We tour the island then take the causeway to the island of Caprera. Here we visit the Military Museum. After lunch we drive along the "Costa Smeralda", the beautiful Emerald Coast, home of the jet set,  passing through Baia Sardinia, Porto Cervo (the Saint Tropez of Sardinia), and Porto Rotondo. Dinner and overnight in the region of Olbia.

Today we visit some typically Sardinian towns starting off with Nuoro and its Museum dedicated to Sardinian culture and traditions. On then to Orgosolo where we enjoy a typical lunch with some local shepherds. We continue to Dorgali for dinner and overnight.

Destination Bosa, a picturesque seaside resort situated at the mouth of the Temo river and dominated by the medieval castle of Serravalle. On to Alghero where we lunch. Guided tour of the lovely old medieval town and delightful little port. Dinner and overnight in the region.

The cliffs of Capo Caccia tower above Neptune's Grotto. We take a boat trip to visit this spectacular underground cavern with its amazing rock formations (in case of inclement weather we visit a "Nuraghe", an ancient dry-stone conical tower unique to Sardinia). On to the Stintino peninsula with its fantastic beaches and rocky isthmus. Next stop Porto Torres for lunch and a guided visit to a wine growing estate, with wine tasting. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Depart for the ferry port of Porto Torres where we board the ferry at 12.30 p.m. You are free to have lunch on board. Cabin allocation. We set sail for Marseille at 2.30 p.m. Dinner at your leisure, overnight on board.
