D1 Venice Region

Group arrival at Venice airport where you will be welcomed by your guide. Coach transfer to Lido di Jesolo and check in to your three star hotel. Dinner and overnight.

D2 Venice

By bus to Punta Sabbioni then by private ferry across the lagoon to Venice. Guided tour of Venice taking in landmarks such as St Mark’s Square and the Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs, and the magnificent Doge’s Palace. Free time for lunch. Then an afternoon visiting the islands of the Venetian Lagoon by boat: Murano famous for its glass making, and Burano for its lace, with a visit to a traditional workshop on both. Return private boat to Punta Sabbioni at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

D3 Venice / Bologna and Montecatini Terme

Leave for Tuscany. Stop at Bologna for a short guided tour of the beautiful city centre around the main squares, the famous Piazza Maggiore and Piazza del Nettuno. Admire Neptune’s Fountain, the City Hall or ‘Palazzo Comunale’, and San Petronio’s Basilica. Free time for lunch. Continue on to Montecatini Terme. Check-in to your 3* hotel. Dinner and overnight.

D4 Florence

We head for Florence, cradle of the Renaissance. Our guided tour takes in the Signoria Square at the heart of the city, the Uffizi Gallery building, the famous Duomo cathedral, and its remarkable Baptistery. You are free to take lunch then wander at leisure, or perhaps do some shopping, in this lovely city. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

D5 Siena and Naples

Set off for Siena, and a guided tour beginning with the Piazza del Campo, the central shell-shaped square, where the famous Palio horse race takes place every year. A visit to the stunning Gothic Palazzo Publico or Town Hall, is optional. Free time for lunch before we continue on to Naples. Check in to your three star hotel, dinner and overnight.

D6 Naples and Pompeii

Depart for Naples. Guided tour of the city centre. Feast your eyes on the Piazza del Plebiscito, the glass-roofed Galleria Umberto shopping arcade, the Royal Palace and San Carlo Opera House. A visit to the Archaeological Museum, one of the world’s most extensive collections of Greek and Roman antiquities, is optional. Free time for lunch before continuing to Pompeïi. Afternoon for a guided tour of the ancient forum, sitting at the foot of Vesuvius in the Bay of Naples. Its villas, artworks and frescoes were remarkably preserved by the ashes that buried the town after the eruption of Vesuvius in AD79. Return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

D7 Isle of Capri

Minibus transfer to the port of Sorrento, where your guide for the day will meet you, before the boat crossing to Capri. A chance to explore this delightful isle, a jewel in the Mediterranean surrounded by clear blue seas. Lunch then free time to wander, perhaps in the lovely Augusta Gardens. A visit to the San Michele Villa and glorious gardens, for a stunning panorama over the sea to Sorrento and Vesuvius, is optional. Dinner and overnight.

D8 Baroque Rome

Our itinerary continues to the “Eternal City”, Rome, where we arrive at the end of the morning. You are free to lunch before we take a guided tour of the Baroque parts of the city and delights such as the Trevi Fountain, the Piazza Navone Square, the Pantheon and the much loved Piazza di Spagna, or Spain Square. Check in to your three star hotel, dinner and overnight.

D9 Catholic Churches and Roman Remains of Rome

Guided tour of the Vatican City including the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica with audio-guide. Free time for lunch and in the afternoon a guided tour of Rome’s ancient sites including the Colosseum (exterior), the Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum and the Via Dei Fiori Imperiali. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

D10 Rome Fiumicino Airport

Breakfast at the hotel then coach transfer to the airport for the return journey.
