Dates
Arrive in Paris airport of Paris (flight under your own responsibility), where you will be welcomed by your tour Guide. Transfer with your local coach to Dinan. Free lunch on the route, then time to wander in the maze of old cobbled streets lined with wooden houses. Visit to the Apple and Cider Museum including a tasting session. Check in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
A tourist train ride with commentary round the ramparts of St Malo. On to Cancale via the hand carved rocks sculptures of Rotheneuf and the rugged Pointe du Grouin headland. We visit an oyster farm (a tasting session is optional), then free time for lunch. On to Mont St Michel, granite isle standing proud in the middle of a vast sandy bay. Explore what is often considered to be one of the Wonders of the Western World and visit the abbey. Dinner and overnight.
On the way to the Emerald coast, first stop at La Latte fortress, perched 60 metres high above the sea. At the Fréhel headland we stop to admire the porphyry and sandstone cliffs. Then the series of rocky outcrops and gigantic chunks of granite that give their name to the Pink Granite Coast. Free time for lunch on the route. After that, we continue via Paimpol, Arcouest Point, Tregastel, and Perros-Guirec. Free time to scramble on the rocks at Ploumanac'h. Dinner and overnight.
A commentated cruise along the Rance river valley with its Breton villages and manors tucked away in the green rolling countryside. Free time for lunch, then on to Normandy. Check in to your hotel in the region of Caen. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Visit of Caen with its historical abbey and castles. Free lunch. Visit the Caen Memorial, a Museum for Peace, perhaps the best World War II museum in France whose striking collection of objects and archives is presented in a lifelike and original display that brings the past to life. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Set off along the “Côte de Nacre” towards Arromanches and visit the D-Day Landings Museum. Continue to Longues sur Mer and free time to explore the Artillery Bunkers where powerful German forces were finally silenced on 6th June 1944.. Free time for lunch, then on to Omaha Beach to visit the American Military Cemetery. Continue as far as the Pointe du Hoc headland and Grandcamp Maisy, then back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Leave for the "Côte Fleurie" and the fashionable seaside resorts of Deauville, Trouville and Honfleur. Taste some local cider and calvados, two of the region’s most popular tipples. Free lunch, then across the Normandy Bridge towards Fecamp and the dramatic white cliffs of Etretat. Visit to the Benedictine Palace, the fabulous building housing various art treasures as well as the distillery that makes the famous liqueur of the same name, and a chance to sample. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Admire the famous Bayeux Tapestry recounting the different stages of Duke William’s Norman conquest. Free time for lunch, then on to Paris. Panoramic tour of the capital before checking in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
