Dates
Lunch in Epernay then a tour of the town and its 19th century buildings. A guided little train tour is optional. Time then to visit the chocolate factory and the chance to sample some delicious champagne filled chocolates. Dinner and overnight.
In the company of an expert wine guide, learn all about the different techniques used to produce champagne, and taste three of Champagne Mercier's prestigious vintages. Then the chance to visit an estate producing bio-dynamic wines, protecting both the environment and the authentic flavour of the wines. Local style lunch. Then an interesting stop at the Museum of the Vine, housed in the old lighthouse at Verzenay, retracing the history and evolution of the champagne wine-growing territory. Dinner and overnight.
A circuit by train of the rolling Reims countryside, to learn about the whole process of champagne making, from the vineyard to the wine cellar. At the Chamery cellar we then do some tasting before lunch at a local wine producer.
