Lunch in Annecy. Guided tour of the old town with its arcaded houses, canals, castle and Bishop's Palace. Enjoy a commentated cruise on the lake, jewel of the Savoy Alps whose lofty summits are reflected in the deep sapphire waters. Dinner and overnight.
Head for the Forclaz Col offering a splendid view over Lake Annecy. Link up with your local chef who will introduce you to the delights of Savoyard Gastronomy: first shopping at the market to choose the freshest of local ingredients, then a cookery lesson and finally appreciation of your culinary creations. To end the day a visit to a local wine producer in order to sample some of the fresh and fruity regional wines. Dinner and overnight.
It's almost impossible not to have delicious mountain cheeses on a Savoyard table. Reblochon, Tomme, Raclette, Beaufort are all available for tasting. Lunch follows.
