D1 Paris Landmarks and the Seine
Arrival in Paris and Transfer to the city centre. Then a guided sightseeing tour taking in some of the city’s best known and loved monuments including the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower. Take to the river to admire the graceful architecture of her bridges and riverside mansions. Accommodation in Paris. Dinner and overnight.
D2 Orsay Museum and Montmartre
You will start the day with a visit of the Museum of Orsay, which house a collection of impressionist work and present an exceptional panorama of the creation during the second half of the 19th century. Free time for lunch then tourist train ride up to Montmartre, home to the imposing Sacre Coeur Basilica. A favourite haunt with artists since the 19th century, Bohemian Montmartre still retains a village feel. Wander at leisure and soak up the atmosphere. Dinner and overnight.
D3 Ile de la Cite, Latin Quarter and Shopping
Guided tour in Ile de la Cite, old birthplace or Paris: Dauphine Square, the Saint Chapel and Notre Dame of Paris are some of the treasure offered to the capital city. After visit to the Latin Quarter, located on the left bank of the Seine, around the Sorbonne. Free time for shopping in Galeries Lafayette. Diner and overnight.
D4 Marseilles, the oldest city in France
Departure from Paris to Marseille by Train TGV. 900 kms separate both cities and it will take you only 3hrs to reach Marseille, we will be on board of a train running 300kms/h. Arrival to Marseille Saint – Charles TGV station. Coach transfer to the city and a sightseeing tour (by coach) taking in the harbour, Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica dominating the city and the ancient Abbey of Saint Victor built on the tomb of a Christian martyr. Pure and natural “savon de Marseille” soap is made according to traditional methods which you can witness first-hand at a soap manufacturers. Accommodation in Marseille. Dinner and overnight.
D5 Calanques de Cassis and Bandol wines
Excursion to Cassis, a little fishing village snugs at the foot of dramatic cliffs, and in a beautiful bay. Enjoy a boat trip to the “calanques”, whose brilliant white mini-fjords slice into the limpid blue waters. Free time for lunch. Then visit a local vineyard and sample some of the renowned wines from Bandol. To end the afternoon visit the mediaeval village of Le Castellet, full of artisans’ boutiques. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
D6 Porquerolles Island / St Tropez
Leave for Hyeres and taking the boat across to the beautiful island of Porquerolles, with its pristine sandy beaches, pine forest and scrub, charming fishing village and Botanical Conservatory. The 16th century fortress of Saint Agatha affords stunning views over the isle and the bay of Hyeres. Stop at Port Grimaud, nicknamed “little Venice” whose colourful houses, narrow streets, canals and bridges are a delight! Accommodation in the area of St Tropez. Dinner and overnight.
D7 St Tropez / Esterel Corniche / Cannes
Visit to Saint Tropez, first a fishing village and artist’s paradise, now frequented by the rich and famous. From here follow the « corniche d’Or » coast road towards Cannes, a stunning drive at the foot of the rich red and gold ochre cliffs of the Esterel massif, lapped by the translucent water of the Mediterranean. Free time for lunch, and then enjoy an outing to Cannes, the Hollywood of the Côte d’Azur, with its famous seafront boulevard, “La Croisette”, golden sandy beach, and quaint old town. D8 Grasse and St Paul de Vence
Breakfast and then visit to the medieval village of Grasse with his Place aux Aires, his narrows and picturesque streets and his 12th century cathedral. Visit of a perfumery and discover of the magical universe of perfume creation. Free time for lunch and visit the medieval village of Saint Paul de Vence. Accommodation in Nice. Diner and overnight.
Flower capital of the Riviera, browse the lovely old town in the heart of Nice, with its pastel-coloured facades and narrow lanes so Italianate in feel, then time at leisure to wander in the flower market on Saleya Square. Excursion to Monaco, where the memory of Princess Grace seems ingrained in the very rock. Don’t miss the Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace. Free time for lunch, and to stroll at leisure in the Principality. On next to the gorgeous village of Eze, perched on high like an eagle nests. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
